The MG81 is a machine gun of German origin and was used in various applications of Luftwaffe aircraft. The weapon is very light in weight, compact, easy to produce/maintain and had a high ROF of 1,500RPM. The MG81 uses the 7.92 calibre round but when replaced in aircraft by the more powerful MG131, It was then converted to ground role, Much like a GPMG.
There was also the MG81Z, Which was basically twin mounted MG81's but this was done to increase the ROF and hitting probability.
